home about RO-education believe gallery
We believe the Christian life is one of continuing conversation, learning, growth and engagement with God and one another. Education is offered to encourage, nurture, and equip you to further that conversation. We understand that doubt and wrestling are part of the journey of faith, and seek to make safe space where life and faith can be honestly engaged.
Opportunities For Fellowship and Learning
> Women's Study
The Women's Study group meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 11:30 AM. Bring a sack lunch and come for the study and fellowship.
> Weekly Sunday Adult Education
Each Sunday we gather in the fellowship hall before worship for our Adult Study from September through May. Classes resume in September after worship and coffee fellowship as we continue the Great Courses on the Old Testament.
> Lunch Bunch
Come out and have some fun. Once a month we gather for a meal out somewhere in the community. Watch the church announcements for where we are going next. The Lunch Bunch meets at a local restaurant third Tuesday of every month at 11:45 AM.
> Seasonal Devotionals
During the seasons of Advent and Lent, a devotional series written by members of the church and Pr. Carol will be offered. This is available via email, Facebook or printed copy.
> Coffee & Scriptures
Come for coffee and join in the conversation for the Scriptures for the coming Sunday every Monday morning at 10:00 AM. The weekly announcements have the readings that will be discussed.
More Opportunities
> Wednesday Bible School
Wednesday Bible School is for children age 4 through 6th grade. During the school year we meet from 3:50 – 5:00 PM. The students can ride the bus from school to First Lutheran Church. At Christmas and the end of the school year, there is program and meal lead by the children for their families, friends, and the faith community.
We are always looking for volunteers for teaching crafts, providing snacks, and a photographer.
This is a joint venture with the Plains/Paradise United Methodist Church.
> Thirsty Theology
God invites us to “Come, all who are thirsty, come to the waters.” (Is.55:1). It’s a moving portrayal of how the Lord offers satisfying refreshment for our thirsty souls. We usually gather As Lutherans, we are full of talkers, and listeners, and questioners, and learners. From October through May, we gather on the first Monday of the month for pizza and conversation at 6:00 PM. We alternate between Thompson Falls and Plains for approximately 1 hour or until the pizza is gone.
Plans are in the works for the fall of 2019 on topics of social justice. Closer to October, Pr. Carol will provide details on the fall schedule.
Come and meet new friends and join in the conversation or invite your friends along.
Please note, each person is responsible for paying their share of the meal and drinks.
